Coupons have become all the rage and if you haven’t been using them, you are spending more money than necessary. Money goes a lot further when you take all of the deals that you can. 43% of the heaviest coupon users are from households earning more than $70,000 according to a recent CNN poll.
For fun with friends,
www.Groupon.com is helpful as well as www.LivingSocial.com and www.Restaurant.com. There are other sites out there but these 3 are a great place to start. There is everything from discounts on dining, car repair, photo shoots, concerts and jewelry, just to name a few.
How about coupons on food and home goods? You don’t need to be an Extreme Coupon user to get all of the advantages and money saving benefits by using those $0.50 coupons. They add up so fast that your grocery budget will go further and as you get the hang of it, you can cut your $500 monthly bill in 1/2! A few sites to try would be www.Coupons.com, www.RedPlum.com, or www.CouponMom.com. I only clip coupons on products that I will actually use and some of the Sunday retail ads are matching their weekly sale items with currently available coupons. I have developed a strategy of only buying items that are on sale when possible. Since an item usually goes on sale every 3 months or so, I stock up now so I have enough to last until the next sale.
By strategizing my buying habits, I have been able to buy gifts, etc when they are on sale or when I have a coupon for them. It is a habit that I used to follow when my kids were younger and as my earnings increased, I didn’t think about it as much. Now that my situation has changed yet again, I have found that bargains are available to everyone so why was I paying full price when there is a better deal to be found? We can still shop at our favorite stores by shopping smarter.
Like everyone else, I am getting back to basics and enjoying my new money saving hobby. Get your kids involved and you can work less and play more. They are smart and would really like to help so put them to work finding the best weekly deals by giving them a Sunday newspaper and some scissors.
