Budgeting Without Credit Cards

What is life like without credit cards? Less stressful! I only use them on occasion to book travel. Otherwise I pay cash that has been set aside in my budget.

It is a balancing act but normally everything works out. The only stressful time is when major expenses happen all at once – the car breaks down, the computer needs repair, the air conditioning isn’t working. Having a budget helps with planning but sometimes the unexpected happens and things have to be reprioritized to get spending back on track.

However, without a budget, I would be in free fall. I have done that like so many others. Everything seems necessary right now so breaking out the credit cards was a no brainer. Now that I live on the cash in my pocket, budgeting my lifestyle has improved and I don’t have to work so hard to pay those credit card bills with their crazy finance charges. They never seem to get to zero anyway!

Take that credit card out of your wallet and only use it for planned purchases. Use cash for everything else and enjoy a less stressful lifestyle.
